Mark Romig

A native New Orleanian, Mark is serving as a Senior Advisor for New Orleans & Company, the New Orleans tourism industry’s destination marketing and sales organization, and Senior Advisor for The Ehrhardt Group (TEG), the largest public relations firm in the U.S. Gulf South. Mark also serves as Honorary Consul in Louisiana for the Kingdom of Thailand and is a member of the Board of Directors of Fidelity Bank, headquartered in New Orleans. 

A recognizable “voice” in the community, in 2013, Mark became the Stadium Play-by-Play Announcer for the NFL’s New Orleans Saints in the Caesars Superdome, succeeding his father, Jerry (who served in the same role for 446 consecutive Saints home games over 44 years). In addition, Mark is the stadium voice for the annual Bayou Classic and the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Mark is also host of The Mark Romig Show, a weekly video podcast produced by LoveNOLA TV and found on YouTube TV, Apple Music, and Spotify. 

Very active in national and international events staged in New Orleans, Mark was a member of the operations and marketing team for NOLA Navy Week 2012, 2015 and 2018. He has also worked extensively with the U.S. Navy on its regular port visits to New Orleans and assigned by New Orleans & Company to coordinate Sail 250 New Orleans, part of America 250. Mark recently was co-chair of the 2025 Super Bowl LIX (59) Host Committee’s PR/Media/Branding Committee.  

Mark is volunteering in several other roles, including the Board of Directors of the Emeril Lagasse Foundation (Vice-Chair), New Orleans Film Society, WYES-TV (immediate past chair), Fore!Kids Foundation (immediate past chair), Youth Force NOLA, Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and Methodist Health System Foundation. He serves as an advisor to the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation as well as St. Andrew’s Village. He recently completed a ten-year term at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Travel and Tourism Advisory Council. He is also an active member of St. Rita Catholic Church parish. 

A graduate of New Orleans’ Brother Martin High School (’74), Mark received a B.S Degree from the University of New Orleans (’78) and was named the 2016 Alumnus of the Year. In 2017, Mark was awarded the Ordre national du Mérite (National Order of Merit) by the French government for his work in helping to advance the cause of French American relations in New Orleans. For his work to help strengthen the relations between Spain and Louisiana Mark was awarded the Order of Civil Merit, in its degree of Encomienda (Commander) by His Majesty the King Felipe VI. He was the recipient of the 2018 Silver Medal from the New Orleans Advertising Club, its highest honor, for outstanding achievements in his career and for his service to the community. In 2019, he was presented with the Ella Brennan Lifetime Achievement in Hospitality Award by the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Orleans Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Mark was recently honored by the Louisiana Travel Association with its Will Mangham Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Mark is a former member of the Xavier University Board of Trustees, former Chair of the Board of Project Lazarus, former Chair of the Board of Idea Village, former member of the Board of  Commissioners of New Orleans City Park, former member of the Board of Directors of the Audubon Nature Institute, former International President of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and former President and Chair of the Board of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Committee (Mark is also the Sugar Bowl’s stadium play-by-play announcer). In addition, Mark served as Chair of the Board for the Louisiana Travel Association from 2017 – 2019. In the celebration of New Orleans’ 300th birthday, Mark was appointed volunteer President and CEO from 2015 – 2019 of the 2018 NOLA Foundation, the non-profit organization responsible for supporting the festivities. Mark also served on the Resilient Louisiana Commission’s Festival/Parade Subcommittee in support of the State of Louisiana’s  response to the COVID pandemic. He is a graduate of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute as well as Leadership Louisiana. 

Mark is the son of Janice Collins Romig and the late Jerry Romig. He and his spouse David Briggs live in New Orleans and are active parishioners of St. Rita Parish in New Orleans.
